Puppy of the Year Finalists
In Western Australia one of our most prestigious competitions is the all breeds Puppy of the Year. To qualify for a heat a puppy must win class in group or show awards at All Breeds Championship shows. There are three heats per year judged by a combination of local, interstate and international judges. The best 64 puppies of all breeds as decided in the heats qualify for the final. This year Yunbeai has FOUR of the 64 finalists, Yunbeai The Nagician (Sam), Yunbeai Im In Style (Piper), Yunbeai In My Own Style (Penny) and the baby Yunbeai Love That Magic (Misty). This is a fantastic achievement of which we are all very proud!

Perth Royal Show Report 2007
Once again we had a terrific day at the Perth Royal Show, this year judged by Harry Lehknonen from Finland. Dog CC and BOB was Cash, Ch. Yunbeai Never Say Never with bitch CC and RUBOB going to the puppy bitch Penn
(Yunbeai In My Own Style). In all we won baby of breed (Yunbeai Love That Magic), Puppy
(Yunbeai Im In Style), Junior (Yunbeai In My Own Style), State Bred (Ch. Yunbeai Magics in Style) and Open. A clean sweep of all the classes we entered! Once again, special thanks to Trevor Terrell and all who helped out on the day.

Gundog Dog Show Triumph for the
Puppies!
The Gundog Club of WA August Championship show was judged this year by Henrick Frykstrand of Dewmist golden retrievers in Sweden. It was a very good day for the puppies with the terrible twins Piper and Penny winning both challenges with Rachel handling both (adults Cash and Fern won the reserve challenges) and Piper and Misty the baby won their class in show awards. The critique for Piper was as follows:
Striking youngster of utmost quality. Beautiful head with melting expression, lovely eyes, good neck which is well set on, good shoulder, nice front bone and feet, compact body, excellent ribs, strong
topline, very good quarters with good second thigh. True mover, moves with good extension in front and excellent drive in back. Correct coat texture. Well presented in good condition and a true cocker merry temperament.
On the same day an Open show was judged at which Rachel had to do all the handling as Gabe had pulled a calf muscle. She stepped up really well and won BOB and RUIS again with the puppy Piper
(Yunbeai Im In Style).

A New Handler
Joins the Team!
On the 14th July 2007 at 10 years of age Rachel handled her first dog in the “big classes” winning a second in baby class with her tricolour baby Fleur
(Yunbeai Major Surprise) and following up with a first the next day under
Sna. Gomez from Mexico. Having got the hang of this pretty quickly a month later she won both challenges handling the puppies under Mrs. Sirzick from Israel!

The Tris arrive!
15th September 2006 was a very big day at Yunbeai as we discovered quite accidentally that the tan gene was still alive and well in our
parti-colours. Ch. Yunbeai Never Say Never (Cash) sired a litter containing two blue roan and tan bitches from Ch. Yunbeai summer Loving (Darling). One bitch unfortunately died young.
Having discovered the gene we set out to breed some more and thanks to the kind generosity of Craig and Ysobel Peters another two tris were born on April 7th 2007. Yunbeai Major Surprise (Fleur) and Yunbeai Major Miracle
(Yolly) are both still with us and adding more than just a little dash of colour to the place!
